Storage Heater Grants are available to help people who are in receipt of State Benefits, such as Child Benefit or Guaranteed Family Credit, replace their broken storage heaters and night storage heaters.

If you have a broken storage heater or night storage heater and receive one of the following benefits: Child Benefit, Guaranteed Family Credit (GFC), Sure Start Maternity Grant, Council Tax Reduction (CTR) or Cold Weather Payments and are on a low income, you could be eligible for a grant to help pay for a replacement storage heater.

Storage heaters use off-peak electricity which is supplied from the national grid to your house which is called the ‘off-peak’ period. Off-peak electricity is supplied at a cheaper price, than standard rate electricity would be at a different time of day; therefore, it needs a separate circuit and meter.
